About the Schools
The secondary school is based in Middlesbrough and is a busy, ambitious environment with high expectations for both staff and students. You’ll be teaching Science across multiple year groups, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons in the absence of a permanent class teacher. Subject knowledge and the ability to maintain strong classroom standards are central to this role — the school needs someone who can hit the ground running, build positive relationships with pupils, and sustain a purposeful learning environment every lesson.
Assignment Details
1. Long-term placement — ongoing role based at one Middlesbrough secondary school
2. Immediate start — the role is available now and ready to begin straight away
3. Full-time, Monday to Friday — consistent timetable with the opportunity to become an integral part of the school
Person Specification
4. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Science — essential
5. Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4 in a secondary school setting
6. Ability to plan, deliver, and assess engaging Science lessons that meet the needs of all learners
7. Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive, professional relationships with students
8. Experience with GCSE Science preparation and familiarity with current exam board specifications is desirable
9. Current DBS on the update service, or willing to apply for a new one
