Contract: Full-Time Permanent
Shifts: Day shifts (potentially moving to morning and afternoons)
Opportunity:
Production Supervisor required to join the brand new State of the art Overhaul Facility in the Manchester area. This is a safety‑critical leadership role responsible for supervising technicians on the shop floor and ensuring the safe, efficient, and high‑quality overhaul of major rail components.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Technician or hands‑on supervisor with a strong background in rail, heavy engineering, automotive, aerospace or similar industry and environment who enjoys leading people, driving standards, and delivering against challenging production targets.
The Production Supervisor will lead a small team of technicians carrying out overhaul activities on major rail components.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and motivate a team of technicians to deliver overhaul activities safely, on time, and to quality standards
Provide day‑to‑day supervision on the shop floor, allocating work in line with the production plan
Ensure technicians are trained, competent, and working in accordance with work instructions, BOMs, and risk assessments
Monitor performance, carry out competency assessments, and support individual development
Support the Production Manager in achieving KPIs relating to output, quality, efficiency, and rework
Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 or above in a relevant Electrical or Mechanical discipline
IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) – desirable
Personal Skills
Strong people leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
Excellent planning and organisational capability
Strong safety‑first mindset with a focus on quality and delivery
Clear communicator across technical and multicultural environments
