As a Repair Technician, you'll play a vital role in our operations, ensuring our innovative products are diagnosed and repaired to the highest standards. At Castles, we believe great technology is powered by great people—and that’s where you come in. This is a fulltime role, working 40hrs per week. Job Purpose Carry out test, fault finding and repair operations on POS terminals and assemblies. To record data related to the operations carried out. Work as part of a team with other members of the Diagnosis Department as directed by the Diagnosis Supervisor. Main Objectives & Activities • Test products to written Procedures and Documentation. • Diagnose faults to assembly level. • Disassemble products to enable repair. • Replace and Repair unserviceable parts or assemblies. • Re-assemble and test. • Record test results and work carried out. • Ensure units are processed within Service Level Agreement and as instructed by Repair Centre scheduler. Required Knowledge & Experience • A formal Electronic Engineering qualification is preferable e.g. BTEC Level 1, however full training will be given. • Experience in the use of basic electronic test equipment e.g. multimeters etc. • Good basic soldering skills. • Proven work experience within an electronic test and repair environment preferred. • Good basic PC / IT knowledge and experience. • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools. • Good communication skills in order to be able to integrate and operate effectively within the Diagnosis Team. • Be able to work with minimal supervision. • Good eyesight (with visual aids if required) and the ability to use small mechanical tools.
