Architect and Principal Designer Job in Reigate, Surrey
An is now available, working for a successful architectural practice based in the town centre of Reigate. The role would involve working on and closely with the design team on a number of interesting (but RIBA termed High Risk Building – HRB) projects.
The practice was recently formed in 2022 but the Directors possess over 40 years of experience in the industry, working on commercial and residential projects with a wide range of public and private sector clients.
The team already have formed a number of strong working relationships with clients and has plans for sustained growth over the next few years.
With a number of new and upcoming projects, they are seeking a Principal Designer to join the team.
Role & Responsibilities
1. Advise on specific health & safety matters
2. Lead / work on architectural projects and across teams as Principal Designer Lead
3. Review projects and designs and support with preconstruction health & safety matters
4. Support the client to provide preconstruction information
5. coordinate all health & safety matters during preconstruction
6. Be registered with or working toward being a RIBA registered principal designer
7. Issue the health & safety document on completion
8. Work closely with the design team
9. Develop guidance materials and management tools
10. Work directly with clients
11. Carry out research on good practices
12. Liaise with enforcing authorities
13. Critically appraise design risk assessments.
Required Skills & Experience
14. Possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Architect (ARB)
15. Experience of working as a principal designer on high-risk buildings
16. Ability to use AutoCAD or Revit would be preferred
17. Driving licence
18. Own car.
