We are seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent communication and interpret. The successful candidate will provide high quality care and support to patients and staff working within the recovery unit of the operating theatre department.

You will be keen to develop and contribute to the delivery of high quality, safe care with a real focus on continually improving the patient experience. The successful candidate should have a positive approach in supporting the theatre, wards and departments objectives and they will be able to demonstrate the Trust Values and expected behaviours. Previous theatre experience would be desirable.

Maintaining a safe and clean environment within the clinical area in accordance with the Trusts policies and guidelines. Deliver a high standard of perioperative care based upon a sound evidence base. Provide skilled clinical assistance to the surgical, anaesthetic and recovery teams. Maintaining timely and accurate patient care documentation, ensuring that confidentiality is respected. Creates and utilizes opportunities to promote health and wellbeing of patients in our care. Communicating with and assisting the multidisciplinary team to always promote excellence in the delivery of patient care. Working within the NMC/HCPC Guidelines and Trust Policies, recognising one’s own abilities and limitations. To ensure 24-hour cover, working rotational shifts to include earlies, lates, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

Leads a perioperative team to manage a group of patients throughout a shift. Managerial duties: ensure that adequate resources are available to meet patient needs and contribute to cost improvement programmes; maintain stock levels; ensure equipment for patient use is kept in good working order; ensure appropriate skill mix is available; address concerns and complaints; deputise for the Team Leader as needed.

Educational and Training: maintain a positive attitude to continuing professional development; participate in Trust Appraisal System; understand Clinical Governance; participate in audit and research; contribute to and evaluate new ideas and innovations within Theatre areas; promote a professional image and provide clinical supervision; assist in mentoring and assessing colleagues and students in placement. Professional: inform the Team Leader of concerns; ensure Revalidation requirements for NMC/HCPC registration are adhered; act as an ambassador for the clinical environment.
