We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's finance team as a Payables Officer.
The role:
We are seeking a part-time (18.5 hours per week) Payables Office to join our finance team. The role supports our Senior Payables Officer in the day-to-day operation and administration of the payment functions, ensuring timely payments and compliance with statutory, contractual and audit requirements.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
* Setting up new vendors and updating new vendor records
* Maintaining the vendor database with accurate and up to date information
* Processing invoices, credit notes, grant payments, precepts, CIL payments, refund and other adhoc payments requests received, completing final checks and posting to ledger
* Processing monthly credit card statement transactions, ensuring documentation is correct and accurately recorded
* Reconciliation work across various statements
* Dealing with purchase invoice and order queries
What you will need:
Previous accounts payable experience is essential, experience of transactional services and processing through the payment as well as a good working knowledge of VAT. Basic knowledge of CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) and experience of working within and operational Finance team would be very beneficial.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy is required as well as being able to work independently and as part of a team.
