Salary: £60,000 per year
Signing Bonus: £2,000
We are looking for a Registered Manager to lead our brand-new children's home in Ilkeston.
At Sterling, we may be a small company, but we took our time to get it right before opening our second home. We are proud to say our first home has been recognised by Ofsted as Good in all areas. Now, we're ready to grow and we need a manager who shares our vision.
For us, building a home goes beyond walls. It takes heart, leadership, and compassion. Every child deserves more than a placement; they deserve a safe, nurturing home where they are valued and supported on their journey.
We're looking for a committed and resilient leader who will join us in shaping a strong staff team and creating the very best environment for children and young people.
What We're Offering
* Salary of £60k
* £2,000 signing bonus.
* Genuine input into shaping a new home from the ground up.
* Ongoing development and progression, with CPD and leadership opportunities.
* Support from an experienced and committed operational team.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will:
* Work with our Operations Manager to register and set up the new home.
* Lead from the front; recruiting, supporting, and developing your team.
* Create a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for children and staff.
* Ensure safeguarding, risk management, and care planning are always of the highest standard.
* Support young people with complex needs using trauma-informed approaches.
* Build positive relationships with families, professionals, and agencies.
* Make sure the home is always inspection-ready, aiming for Good or Outstanding.
* Provide strong, compassionate leadership that puts children and young people at the centre of everything.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
* Holds a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (essential).
* Has experience managing in a children's residential setting.
* Understands regulations, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements.
* Can lead and inspire a team with resilience, integrity, and empathy.
* Has experience supporting children with EBD/LD and complex needs.
* Holds a full UK driving licence.
Why Join Us?
This isn't just another manager job. It's a chance to help build a new home, shape its culture, and be part of a leadership team that is driven by values, not just numbers.
If you're passionate about delivering the best care, developing strong teams, and creating a safe and nurturing home for children, we'd love to hear from you.
