Japanese/English Translator & Copywriter
At ROLI, we're making music creation more accessible than ever. As a Japanese/English Translator & Copywriter, you'll play a key role in bringing our brand and products to the Japanese market, ensuring content is accurate, culturally relevant, and engaging for learners everywhere.
This is a 6 months contract, starting immediately with the possibility to extend or become permanent.

Your Purpose
You'll ensure ROLI's content resonates with Japanese users by translating and localising copy for the Learn App,, and marketing campaigns. Your work will help us communicate clearly, inspire learners, and maintain the brand's tone and style across languages.
Your Responsibilities
You translate and localise marketing, product, and support content from English into Japanese.
You adapt English content into culturally relevant, engaging Japanese copy (beyond literal translation).
You collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Design teams to deliver seamless user experiences.
You maintain consistency of tone, style,and terminology across all platforms.
You review translated UI and UX to ensure clarity, usability, and engagement.
You support ad-hoc content needs, including campaign copy, email, in-app messages, and website updates.
Who We're Looking For
You have 3–5 years of experience as a copywriter/translator, ideally in tech or music.
You are fully bilingual in Japanese and English (native or near-native level).
You have strong writing, editing, and localisation skills; able to adapt copy for cultural nuance.
You have experience collaborating with product or marketing teams in international contexts.
You are preferably based in London, but you could also be based in Tokyo.
You are able to work as a contractor/freelancer with flexibility for cross-team collaboration.
