Overview
In order to support the growth of the Nuclear Assurance, Technology and Regulation business, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Nuclear Engineer to be based in our Bristol MoD Project Office. As a Nuclear Engineer you will be working within an established yet growing team operating within Consultancy & Defence Integrator Solutions Business, supporting the Ministry of Defence in the Nuclear Submarine Programme.
Role Responsibilities
* Provide authoritative advice to the MoD in support of their internal governance processes
* Act as a Subject Matter Expert in relevant technical areas, providing technical advice to the MoD
* Represent the team in internal and external project and technical meetings
* Identify commercial opportunities and ensure that appropriate follow-up actions are taken
Experience and Qualifications
* Experience within the naval nuclear propulsion programme and detailed knowledge of naval reactor plant or the UK Submarine Enterprise
* Degree or equivalent in a relevant science or engineering discipline
* Hold or be working towards Chartered status
* Hold or be working towards an appropriate Project Management Qualification
* Flexibility with the ability to travel as the demands of the role dictate
* Working knowledge of Safety Case construct and production
* Working knowledge of UK Regulatory systems and the organisations involved
* Ability to work across a range of tasks and liaise with stakeholders at all levels
* This role will require security clearance; therefore applicants should hold or be able to obtain security clearance in the UK
