How would you like to be paid for five days but only work four*?
Our colleagues’ wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do at OFG, so we’re always looking for new ways to improve everyone’s work/life balance. We’re taking part in a trial of the 4-Day Working Week, meaning that you could be working one day less a week (or equivalent).
If the trial is a success, we’ll be rolling the 4DWW out across the Group – so there’s never been a more exciting time to join #teamOFG!
Job Title: Class Teacher
Location: Oakham Shires School, Rutland, LE15 6JB
Salary: Up to £39,000 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only
UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship.
As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Class Teacher to join our close-knit team at Oakham Shires School, part of Options Autism.
About the role
To provide a high quality education service for our students in accordance with Company policies, procedures and practices and the standards set by the Regulatory Body.
The successful candidate will have experience of closing the gaps for disadvantaged and SEND pupils, which would be beneficial as you would be supporting autistic teenagers who have struggled throughout their school journey to achieve their academic and life goals.
Class groups are small, allowing you to focus on each pupil’s needs; all of our pupils are treated as individuals. We recognize that one size does not fit all, and we adapt our teaching to meet individual needs. Knowledge and understanding of autism and developmental trauma would be beneficial. We use an “in their own time and space” philosophy to support our pupils in navigating their lives. We focus on understanding behavior as communication and use this to support their social and emotional development. We have a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected, and involved in decisions.
We need teachers who are passionate about working with pupils, have a compassionate, caring manner, and a mature, non-judgmental approach to life. You will be a clear communicator and resilient.
Qualifications:
* QTS - Not suitable for ECT
* Full UK Driving Licence
