A well-established and forward-thinking healthcare provider in Swindon is looking to recruit an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join its growing multidisciplinary team. The Role:
The Advanced Nurse Practitioner will work both independently and collaboratively to provide advanced clinical care to patients across a broad spectrum of health needs. This includes the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute presentations, as well as ongoing care for patients with long-term conditions.
The ANP will be confident in making autonomous clinical decisions, managing risk effectively, and ensuring that care is delivered in line with current best practice guidelines. The role also involves active participation in clinical governance, service improvement initiatives, and mentoring of junior staff where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver advanced, holistic clinical assessment and diagnosis
Develop and implement treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions
Independently prescribe medication in line with qualifications and local protocols
Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic investigations
Manage a diverse patient caseload, including complex presentations
Provide health education, promotion, and preventative care advice
Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, pharmacists, and allied health professionals
Contribute to clinical audits, governance, and quality improvement initiatives
Support the training and development of junior clinical staff
Essential Requirements:
Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (or equivalent qualification)
Independent Non-Medical Prescriber
Significant post-registration clinical experience
Proven ability to work autonomously in a clinical setting
Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical decision-making skills
Desirable Experience:
Background in primary care, urgent care, or community healthcare
Experience managing minor illness and/or minor injuries
Previous involvement in leadership, supervision, or mentoring
Familiarity with local healthcare pathways and systems
