Academic Support Assistant
Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Salary: £85 - £110 per day
Start Date: ASAP
GSL Education are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, and caring Academic Support Assistant to work at a Client Secondary School in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, starting as soon as possible.
Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality support to students with a range of additional needs.
* Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
* Support students in accessing learning and encourage independence through structured routines and personalised strategies.
* Deliver small group or 1:1 interventions.
* Help manage behaviour using a consistent and positive approach.
* Support with personal care and mobility.
Requirements:
* Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
* Experience working with children or young people.
* Understanding of the barriers to learning experienced by students with SEND.
* Ability to work calmly and patiently, particularly in emotionally demanding situations.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Hold a Child Only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
