We are supporting our client in the search for an experienced Maintenance Planner to play a key role in driving asset reliability and operational performance within a process environment.
This is a critical position responsible for the effective planning, scheduling and coordination of maintenance activities, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum equipment availability. You will work closely with operations, engineering and supply chain teams to deliver safe, efficient and well-structured maintenance plans aligned to business objectives.
The Role
As Maintenance Planner, you will take ownership of maintenance planning processes, ensuring all work is prepared, prioritised and executed in line with site safety standards and production requirements.
You will utilise CMMS systems to develop detailed job plans, coordinate resources and support continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, schedule and coordinate all planned and reactive maintenance activities
Develop detailed job plans including labour, materials, tooling and safety requirements
Build and maintain a comprehensive library of maintenance job plans
Prioritise maintenance work based on equipment criticality and operational impact
Lead daily and weekly planning meetings, including support for shutdown and outage planning
Coordinate third-party contractors, ensuring all access, RAMS and compliance requirements are met
Utilise CMMS systems (e.g. SAP / Maximo) to manage work orders and maintain accurate asset history
Support root cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives
Analyse maintenance data and produce KPI reports to drive performance improvements
Work collaboratively with operations and supply chain teams to ensure resource availability What We're Looking For
Time-served maintenance technician or relevant engineering qualification
Proven experience within a chemical, process or heavy industrial environment
Strong understanding of maintenance planning, scheduling and plant operations
Experience working with CMMS systems (SAP, Maximo or similar)
Knowledge of Safe Systems of Work including PTW, LOTO and MOC
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
Experience supporting shutdowns and turnarounds (desirable) Key Skills & Competencies
