Legal Secretary / Administrator
An organised, detail-focused Legal Secretary / Administrator is required to provide secretarial and administrative support within a friendly family law team.
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Legal Secretary / Administrator to join a friendly family department and provide key secretarial and administrative support to a fee earner.
As a Legal Secretary / Administrator you will support the smooth running of day-to-day legal administration, including correspondence, document preparation, filing, diary management and general office support.
The role would suit someone organised, accurate and confident with communication, record keeping and multitasking. Previous family law experience would be an advantage, although it is not essential.
This is a great opportunity for a Legal Secretary / Administrator seeking a part‑time role within a professional services environment.
Location: Broadwater, Worthing, West Sussex. Job type: Part‑Time, Permanent. Working hours: 3 days per week (working days to be discussed during interview).
Salary: Competitive depending on experience + benefits.
Duties
* Secretarial Support: Provide day‑to‑day secretarial assistance to a fee earner within the family department.
* Administrative Support: Carry out general administration tasks to support the smooth running of the team.
* Document Preparation: Prepare, format and manage legal documents and correspondence accurately.
* Diary Management: Assist with scheduling, appointments and general organisation of workload.
* File Management: Maintain accurate records, filing systems and case‑related documentation.
* Communication: Liaise professionally with colleagues, clients and third parties where required.
* Office Support: Help ensure administrative processes are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Candidate Requirements
* Previous Experience: Experience in a legal secretary, legal assistant, legal administrator, team secretary, administrator or office support role.
* Organisation Skills: Strong ability to manage tasks, prioritise work and maintain attention to detail.
* Communication Skills: Confident written and verbal communication skills.
* Accuracy: Able to prepare documents, correspondence and records with care and precision.
* IT Skills: Confident using Microsoft Office, email, document management systems or similar office software.
* Teamwork: Friendly, professional and able to work effectively as part of a supportive team.
* Family Law Advantage: Experience of family work would be an advantage, but is not essential.
