Hydrogeologist – Groundwater Team (Bristol)
We are looking for a Hydrogeologist to join our Groundwater team in Bristol. The role can be worked flexibly, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office and the option to adjust start and finish times.
Role Overview
As a Hydrogeologist you will provide multi‑disciplinary consultancy services for a range of groundwater projects, including aquifer development, water supply management, environmental impact assessments, and groundwater monitoring for major infrastructure schemes.
Responsibilities
* Conduct fieldwork, calculations and prepare drawings, sketches and reports within agreed timeframes and budgets.
* Support projects ranging from preliminary design and EIA to construction and post‑construction monitoring.
* Develop and maintain relationships with existing clients and identify opportunities for new business.
* Maintain good links within the wider groundwater community to enhance technical knowledge and facilitate collaboration.
Qualifications
* BSc in hydrogeology or a closely related discipline (MSc or PhD preferred).
* At least 3 years of professional experience in water resources hydrogeology, engineering hydrogeology (including dewatering) or environmental impact assessment.
* Desire to pursue chartered membership with a relevant professional body such as the Geological Society or CIWEM.
* Strong communication skills – able to produce clear, well‑structured reports in English and review others’ work.
* Experience in borehole construction, rehabilitation, testing and abandonment is an advantage.
