This is a full-time Specialty Grade (SAS) doctor post in General Adult Psychiatry based primarily within Renfrewshire Community Mental Health Teams, with some agreed input into inpatient services at Dykebar Hospital. The post is predominantly community based and covers adults aged 1870 years.
Applications are sought from enthusiastic candidates with experience in General Adult Psychiatry. This is a full time post (10 sessions- 9 clinical sessions and 1 session supporting professional development). These is no oncall commitment.
It is a predominantly community post in Renfrewshire Community Mental Health teams, based in Paisley. Renfrewshire community MH service CMHT covers PA1 to PA14(not PA13) postcodes with Paisley team currently covering PA1 to PA 3, except PA3 postcodes of Linwood. PA3 (Linwood) to PA12 and PA14 postcodes are
covered by Renfrew CMHT based at Mile end mill, Paisley.
Work is ongoing to consolidate the two CMHTs into one team and the postholder will be working within the consolidated team in the future.
Currently, there is a well established Community mental health team in both bases. The successful applicant will work alongside consultants in the team. The CMHT has experienced CPNs with a Nurse team lead, Psychologists, social workers, Occupational therapists with Psychology, social work and OT team leads. There will be administrative support.
Successful candidate will be based in the Community and work as part of the CMHT, offering outpatient and domiciliary assessment of General Adult patients (18 to 70yrs) with mental health problems. There will be requirement to provide some input to the inpatient wards which will be agreed with the successful candidate. The candidate must be able to work in a collaborative way with other professional and other agencies.
This post is full time but consideration will be given to applicants wishing to work less than full time or on a job share basis.
