National Account Executive

The Company

A leading plastic products design and engineering company for packaging and non-packaging applications, with in-house product development and a focus on strengthening and expanding its range of home and office, garden, and baby products for the UK and worldwide markets.

The Position

Location: Home based (travel to Nottinghamshire at least 2 days a week will be a requirement)

Job Purpose

* To establish strong working relationships with Category Buyers within allocated National Accounts, to maximise revenue through expansion of product categories/listings, promotions, and new product introductions.
* To deliver and manage sales and business strategies, ensuring profitable volume growth and negotiating contracts as opportunities arise.
* To develop and support the customer with effective key account strategies across the supply chain to deliver excellent customer service levels.
* A small amount of new business development into other potential new national accounts.
* Support the Sales Director and CEO in everyday management of National Accounts.

Departmental Interfaces/Relationships

Internal – Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director and part of a small team of Senior National Account Managers. The appointee will develop effective working relationships with production, customer service and supply chain functions to ensure high levels of customer service.

External – Develop strong business relationships with multi-level contacts within customer accounts (Purchasing/Category Buyers, Supply Chain Managers, Marketeers, etc.).

Role Objectives

* Undertake an in-depth familiarisation programme covering the Group, Division, company, products, customers, operations, and objectives.
* Deliver profitable growth within allocated customers, both organically and through new business opportunities.
* Provide regular market intelligence and analysis to identify opportunities for category expansion, promotions, and new product development.
* Provide visit reports (especially in the first year) to the Sales & Marketing Director with relevant account information.
* Effectively manage day-to-day running of National Accounts, including maintaining and challenging commercial standing where appropriate.
* Coordinate with the Supply Chain and Customer Service teams to maintain excellent customer service levels.
* Contribute positively internally and externally, ensuring agreed actions are carried out quickly and effectively.
* Ensure targeted year-on-year growth of the designated accounts.

Candidate Profile

Self-motivated, commercially focused and results-driven, with a proven sales background at Account Manager/Key Account Manager or Business Development Manager level, and a track record of supporting profitable growth of multi-million pound key accounts. Ideally experienced in housewares, DIY, or garden products. Excellent opportunities for progression within the business.
