Bench Hand / Deburring Technician
Up to £16.67 per hour
Location: Accrington
Hours Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 4:30pm Friday 8:30am – 1pm Friday
Type: 6 months+

We are seeking a skilled Polisher / Deburring Technician to be responsible for ensuring parts are polished according to specification, ensuring the highest standards of quality.

The Role

Proficient at de-burring techniques such as blending and polishing.
Proficient use of air tools and fly presses to include the clocking of fixtures, vices and angle plates.
Use various methods and tools to polish parts including deburring, hand scraping and polishing wheel.
Ensure proper finish is obtained on each part.
Proficient use of hand assembly techniques.
Inspection of work using Vernier’s, Micrometres, Depth Micrometres and Gauges.
Polisher / Deburring Technician
Essentials

Experience using manufacturing hand tools / manual equipment (air tools, air grinders, fly presses etc), to deburr/fettle/linish components
Must have a conscientious and methodical approach to work
Working to production timelines in a manufacturing environment.
Attention to detail and accuracy at all times.

Reporting to the Value Stream Manager the Polisher will be responsible for ensuring parts are polished according to specification, ensuring the highest standards of quality.

Contribute to fostering a high performance and continuous improvement culture.Key Responsibilities

Work to instructions and specifications to ensure production requirements are met.
Ensure part is positioned correctly in compliance with respective SOP’s and WI applicable to the part.
Use various methods and tools to polish parts including deburring, hand scraping and polishing wheel.
Ensure proper finish is obtained on each part.
Inspect parts for conformity to specifications.
Complete and maintain accurate manufacturing records
Ensure adherence to and contribute to the further development of working to lean principles, actively suggest 5S improvements.
Any other duties of a relative nature as may be required from time to time
