Waste & Recycling Officer Swindon £14.50 - £15.00 per hour Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week (Day Shift) Job Purpose This is an exciting opportunity to support the rollout of food and dry mixed recycling services in communal properties. The role focuses on engaging residents and property management companies to ensure they have the knowledge, tools, and motivation to participate in the recycling scheme. A full UK driving licence is required. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver a work programme for implementing communal recycling, including scheduling, reporting, and tracking progress. Visit bin stores to assess space and ensure capacity meets service needs. Engage with residents to educate and encourage recycling participation. Ensure compliance with relevant waste regulations. Coordinate delivery of containers, equipment, and collection schedules. Monitor recycling rates, analyse data, and identify areas for improvement. Resolve issues during rollout and ongoing service delivery. Develop campaigns based on community feedback and data insights. Work with communications teams to deliver engaging recycling messages. Respond to public enquiries in a clear and courteous manner. Contribute to waste strategy through data-driven insights and innovative ideas. Produce costed proposals and performance reports. Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team objectives. Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards. Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success. Knowledge & Experience Full UK driving licence. Strong communication and public engagement skills. Project planning or service delivery experience. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of recycling and environmental issues. Target-driven with good time management. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Able to record, interpret, and act on operational data.
