This is a team that puts people and communities at the heart of Public Health. We lead change for and with community groups, voluntary organisations, and people. We work across the entire health and social care system to find and create new ways for the voluntary and community sector to be involved at all levels, from giving their views on services to delivering community interventions such as diabetes support groups.
Our Values
In line with our One Coventry Values, we aim to ensure our communities are represented across our workforce. We are committed to being a truly inclusive organisation that encourages diversity, including diversity of thinking. We particularly welcome applicants from minority ethnic, LGBT+, disabled, and neurodiverse communities to make a real difference to our residents, keeping equity and respect at the core of our work.
Our Values are:
* Open and fair: We are fair, open, and transparent.
* Nurture and develop: We help and encourage everyone to be their best.
* Engage and empower: We listen and work together as one.
* Create and innovate: We embrace new ways of working to improve continuously.
* Own and be accountable: We deliver the best services for our residents.
* Value and respect: We prioritize diversity and inclusion in all we do.
Role Overview
This is an 18-month fixed-term contract/secondment. The role is at the heart of communities, creating new complementary services alongside existing health and social care provisions. It will also establish a micro-granting system to support new community ideas and initiatives. The role involves advising and supporting service leaders on collaboration with community organisations and volunteers.

We seek someone with experience working with or within the voluntary and community sector, possessing in-depth knowledge of its challenges and opportunities. The candidate should understand and operate within both the public and voluntary sectors, facilitating collaboration.
