Overview
Svitzer Crewing Operator role. The Crewing Team in Svitzer is responsible for ensuring vessels with 500+ crew are always manned with competent, fully certified individuals while complying with Maritime regulations and company procedures. Crewing operations are based in our Customer Service Centre in Middlesbrough and cover all ports in the UK. The role will form part of the on-call out of hours rota.
Responsibilities
* Manage the deployment of a central pool of employees available for long term and short term cover around the UK.
* Work with the Crewing Team Leader and Customer Operations to identify and analyse resourcing needs in all UK ports current and future plans.
* Manage various systems containing crew data including Payroll and Coast.
* Create and run the monthly payroll (including overtime payments) for designated ports with the ability to cover non designated as required.
* Answer routine questions from crew relating to their CBA, or employment and contractual terms.
* Organise for the monthly disposition of crew creating the recharges to the various Ports across the UK.
* Manage the supply of agency crew – tracking all agency crew, dealing with all invoicing and checking charges made for the supply of crew.
* Review, monitoring and approval of all crew expenses.
* Ensure any crew deployed have the correct certification and medical certificates in place.
* Work closely with the ports to identify any crew training needed and liaise with the Training Team regarding suitable training courses.
* Maintain a good working relationship with all internal and external stakeholders.
