The role
As a Management Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting three Fire Training contracts within our Land Training business. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring the integrity of contract accounting and providing insightful analysis that drives strategic decision-making.
This is a dynamic opportunity to work across multiple operational sites, influence financial performance, and contribute to the delivery of essential training services that support national resilience. You'll gain exposure to complex financial models, pricing strategies, and stakeholder engagement, all while developing your career in a fast-paced and purpose-led environment.
Day to-day you'll be:
1. Reporting monthly accounts, budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans* Building and updating financial models to track performance and challenge assumptions
2. Delivering financial planning and analysis to support decision-making
3. Supporting pricing activity and governance processes
4. Presenting clear financial insights to internal and external stakeholders
The role is home-based with site visits required as and when needed. You'll work 37.5 hours across five days, Monday to Friday, with occasional travel to London and other Southwest locations. This is a 12 month fixed term contract.
Essential experience of the Management Accountant:
5. Interpreting and manipulating data to deliver clear financial messages
6. Meeting deadlines and exceeding performance targets
7. Using Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
8. Working with finance systems such as SAP, NAV, or IFS
Qualifications for the Management Accountant:
9. Ideally fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), though part-qualified candidates will be considered
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
