THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU
We are seeking a Middleweight Technical Operator to join our Tech Ops team in a permanent night shift position. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone with technical skills and a passion for media to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. As a Technical Operator, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of film and TV content, ensuring it is localised and distributed to an international audience efficiently and accurately.
THE ROLE
This role is to integrate part of the localisation tech team. You will be responsible for the Domestic Re-versioning of TV Spots and Social Media content including spot reformatting, graphics insertion and encoding of files for online distribution.
In this role, you will be working on the night shift (10:30pm - 7:00am) and your responsibilities will include:
* Do the Domestic Re-versioning of content – Reformatting to 4x5 and/or 9x16, graphics insertion and delivering final files to Sony
* Upload and download content to and from various Digital Asset Management systems.
* Make sure you are adhering to the specific studio naming conventions and the DMS folder structure.
* Ensure that your projects and any jobs that you work on are organised.
* Ensure that any handovers are clear and thorough so that the team can pick them up.
* Take the lead on big batches and more complex jobs.
* Support the Operations Manager in the daily running of shifts. Ensuring that all shifts are running smoothly.
* Act as second in command for your Operations Manager when needed.
* Help CS with any technical queries they may have relating to specific jobs.
* Assist your Operations Manager in the training of new tech members and also in cross departmental trainings.
* Support the operations team on a daily basis to ensure that all areas are running efficiently.
* Communicate efficiently with your team and CS on any issues that you have encountered and if you will be able to successfully meet the job deadline.
* Flag any hardware/software issues to your line manager, shift team leader and IT. Especially if these are preventing you from doing your daily tasks.
Requirements
* 3+ year of experience in a technical operations role, preferably in the media industry
* Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, and Audition
* Strong knowledge of digital video file formats and encoding/transcoding software
* Experience working with online and broadcast video formats
* Technical understanding of video and audio signals
* Editing experience and ability to produce content with quick turnaround
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work
* Ability to handle tight deadlines and work under pressure
* Strong communication and collaboration skills
