Job Description
Your Responsibilities
1. To work closely with the Shift Superintendent to ensure the successful and efficient operation of the shift, providing departmental cover and support as required.
2. To ensure the safe and efficient running of the production process they are supporting, responsible for own personal safety and of that of people working in the area.
3. To ensure that the process runs within its critical control points to ensure the products meet food safety as well as quality requirements.
4. To support and assist in recurring tests in the process areas in liaison with maintenance, quality and production management.
5. To play an active role in Performance Excellence, taking forward any actions as required.
6. To assist in the development of SOP's relating to production processes in the department.
7. To assist with permits (LOTO and permit to work) within production for ongoing projects and daily work.
8. To assist with MOC documentation for all relevant changes in the production process/department in liaison with the management team.
9. To assist and conduct risk assessments in production areas and supporting any remedial action required.
10. To assist in the creation of work orders relevant to production, liaising with production management/superintendents as required.
11. To assist in any investigations of environmental, plant safety and occupational safety incidents relevant to production.
12. To ensure safe start-up, running and shutdown of plant and machinery in all areas in which they are required to work.
13. To ensure product throughput and quality is maintained to required levels in all areas they are required to work.
14. Maintain high standards of cleanliness following GMP guidelines in the production area.
15. Perform small maintenance related jobs and liaise with maintenance department
16. Accurately maintain process records as required
17. Liaise with and maintain good line of communication across all process departments and with the Shift Superintendent and Production Management to ensure the whole process is running smoothly.
18. To work closely with the Shift Superintendent assisting them with ad-hoc duties/task as required.
Your Profile
19. Experience in at least one of the following production areas at Erith (Refinery, Extraction, Expelling) – additional areas is ideal.
20. Educated to GCSE (or equivalent level) with good basic mathematical & English written skills.
21. Good IT skills, able to use email and basic computer packages.
22. Self-motivated with a positive attitude
23. A strong affinity to continuous improvement in a production environment
24. Excellent safety knowledge in a production environment.
