Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operational performance. Duties
* Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to identify potential issues before failure occurs.
* Diagnose faults accurately using diagnostic tools and techniques, then perform repairs efficiently.
* Replace worn or damaged parts, including belts, bearings, hydraulics, and electrical components.
* Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs undertaken, and parts used.
* Collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime and optimise machine performance.
* Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
* Assist in the installation of new equipment and upgrades as required.
* Keep the workshop clean, organised, and well-stocked with necessary tools and parts.
Skills
* Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar technical role.
* Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components.
* Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams effectively.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ in Mechanical Engineering are desirable.
* A valid driving licence is preferred for mobility around site or between locations. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance tasks combined with technical proficiency. The ideal candidate will be committed to safety standards and continuous improvement within their craft.
* MOT Tester preferred but not essential
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £30,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
