The Opportunity
Our client, a well-established bar and restaurant in the Aviemore area, is looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join their kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and driven chef to take on a key leadership role within a busy, high-volume operation, supporting the Head Chef in delivering consistently high-quality food.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Head Chef in the day‑to‑day running of the kitchen
* Lead kitchen operations in the Head Chef's absence
* Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
* Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and HACCP standards
* Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste
* Train, supervise, and motivate junior members of the kitchen team
Requirements
Essential
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up
* Strong knowledge of fresh food and high-volume service
* Good understanding of food safety and kitchen compliance
Desirable
* Formal culinary qualifications
* Experience in a similar bar and restaurant environment

* Typical shifts: 11:00 - 21:15 / 21:30 (1.5 hour break)
