The role
SSEN Transmission is seeking an Auxiliary Technician to contribute to our goal of achieving Net Zero. Our Auxiliary Technicians provide frontline technical expertise and coordinate daily work in Substation Auxiliary systems.
You will
* Inspect, operate, and maintain Transmission Substation Auxiliary services such as Standby Generator sets, Batteries, and LVAC assets.
* Collaborate with Substation Maintenance teams and stakeholders to coordinate inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities within your discipline.
* Manage high-value, network-critical electrical assets hands-on.
* Interpret and evaluate inspection data, taking ownership for remediation, rectification, or replacement of components to ensure safe and efficient network operation.
* Accurately record work completed and identify emerging trends in asset defects and failures for escalation.
You have
* Previous experience as an Electrical Technician, Standby Generator Technician, or similar; substation experience is advantageous.
* Experience in the Electrical or Electronics industry.
* Experience coaching and mentoring less experienced colleagues in electrical and mechanical aspects.
* Ability to supervise complex tasks independently.
* A qualification at SVQ/NVQ level in STEM or working towards it.
