Job Title: Maintenance Shift Fitter & Electrician Location: Doncaster, UK Salary: Circa £45,000 per annum Hours: Full-Time | 42 hours/week Position Overview We are currently seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Shift Fitter to join our client’s Doncaster site. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of all plant equipment through effective maintenance, repair, and installation work. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong mechanical skills and a hands-on approach to engineering within a process or manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Mechanical: * Conduct day-to-day maintenance of all plant equipment and machinery. * Carry out risk assessments before starting any maintenance task. * Install, maintain, and commission new and existing equipment without disrupting production. * Perform hands-on mechanical maintenance in line with the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule. * Diagnose faults and proactively resolve mechanical issues to reduce downtime. Electrical Key Responsibilities * Carry out electrical installation work across a wide range of industrial applications. * Perform day-to-day maintenance and fault diagnosis on all plant and machinery. * Conduct risk assessments prior to undertaking any electrical task. * Install and maintain new and existing equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to production. Candidate Requirements Mechanical: * Time-served apprenticeship or a recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). * Strong fabrication and mechanical fitting skills are essential. * Experience in refrigeration systems is advantageous. * Previous experience in a factory, process, or production environment is required. Electrical: Candidate Requirements * Recognised Electrician Apprenticeship or relevant Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent). * Significant industrial electrical experience, ideally in a continuous process or manufacturing environment. * Familiarity with general factory maintenance practices and safe working procedures. * Basic knowledge of PLC logic and inverter drives. * Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot efficiently.
