RSC Group is a family-owned company based in Maghera and we have been providing waste management and road marking services for a wide range of public and private sector organisations over the past 40 years. We have a fleet of over 60 HGV vehicles and as part of our next development phase, we have created the new post of Maintenance Manager. You will be a key member of our team and be responsible for the scheduling and maintenance of equipment and vehicles while ensuring that overall performance meets set targets and KPIs. Roles & Responsibilities: Workshop Management Liaise with the Transport Manager to ensure fit for purpose vehicles are available to meet the operational requirements of the Group. Day to day management of workshop technicians in conjunction with the workshop controller. Ensuring any required processes or operations are adhered to, e.g. Warranty and Adherence to Operator Licence Legislation Work with all service staff and mechanics to ensure that the highest levels of quality are achieved. Ensure that the workshop operates as efficiently as possible with high productivity levels. Generate weekly and monthly reports as required and liaise with management and supervisors to ensure a smooth running and efficient department. Build effective relationships with the Transport Manager. Working with key contract stakeholders and external maintenance providers to ensure adherence to contractual obligations. Work with the HR Manager to review training requirements of all workshop personnel to ensure that the required manufacturer training courses are completed, and training plans are kept up to date to ensure adequate technical skills and resources are available. Assist with the management of Health & Safety processes to ensure statutory and company compliance, environmental care and the maintenance of safety systems and safe ways of working within the service area. Perform and record routine safety inspections or risk assessments on equipment and premises. Ensure that all required Company environmental conditions are fulfilled and maintained. You must recently have at least two years experience with a commercial vehicle / plant workshop supervisory role You must be target focused with excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure. You must be Microsoft competent to intermediate level. You must be focused on your job with excellent administrative ability. You must be reliable and able to work on your own initiative when required. Good technical knowledge of vehicles. Experience of road marking equipment, LPG gas, etc. Experience of vacuum pump maintenance would be advantageous. Good listening and negotiating skills. Experience Operator Licence Undertakings. C1/C/CE Driving licence. Manage the day-to-day operation of the service department to ensure the achievement of key targets such as workshop loading, productivity and labour costings. Working with the wider management team to ensure financial targets are met. Monitor and manage expenditure with internal and external maintenance providers with a view to introducing significant cost reductions. Ensure that the workshop is always kept in a clean condition and a high level of general housekeeping is observed. Ensure that all equipment is kept in working order and all tools are maintained in a calibrated state as required and stored in an orderly and safe manner. Responsibility for maintaining a register of all workshop tools and equipment. Responsible for preforming maintenance and repairs on company equipment. Resolving any issues and reporting any defects or concerns which could potentially cause future problems. Carry out planned preventative maintenance. Undertake basic electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs of all faulty productions equipment. Respond to and carry out reactive maintenance tasks in an efficient and effective manner, minimising the disruption to the business. Ensure any defects or issues are logged. Ensure you maintain a clean and safe environment which is compliant with relevant legislation and internal policies and procedures. Provide recommendations regarding the replacement of existing vehicles and the sourcing or new/used vehicles. Carry out any other Maintenance duties as required and confirmed with the Management.
