Job overview

Band 3 Radiology Assistant, Full or part time considered. Due to the opening of the new Community Diagnostic Hub in Workington, we are actively recruiting Radiology Assistants to support high quality patient‑centred care.

The role of the Radiology Assistant is to support Radiologists, Radiographers and Sonographers, providing services 24/7 over 365 days per annum. Applicants must be flexible, show excellent organisational and prioritising skills, use their own initiative and be confident to discuss new ways of working to improve service efficiency.

Successful applicants must be prepared to work flexible hours per the shift rota, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and to rotate between community and diagnostic hub sites.

The work involves patient care, portering, image handling, clerical work, computer use and data input. This is an opportunity for someone to work directly with patients and support the radiology team in providing high‑quality diagnostic imaging.

This position in the Directorate of Radiology offers the opportunity to be part of a growing, vibrant team, providing safe and effective diagnostic imaging to the people of Cumbria while contributing to dynamic change in patient care.
