Principal/Senior Sustainability Consultant (BREEAM), Newcastle upon Tyne
This is an outstanding opportunity to join our highly influential Smart Energy and Sustainability team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior or Principal Sustainability Consultant to lead and grow our BREEAM services and team in Newcastle city centre.
You’ll be part of our collaborative UK-wide team, developing and delivering complex projects.

Responsibilities:
* Leading BREEAM project delivery with support from senior team members.
* Managing Part L, Energy Strategies, and LCA assessments.
* Managing your workload to meet project deadlines.
* Reviewing project details and setting sustainability targets.
* Assessing documentation against targets and providing feedback.
* Maintaining projects via the evidence tracker.
* Communicating sustainability requirements internally and externally.
* Producing reports and guidance for clients and teams.
* Attending site visits to review progress.
* Monitoring project performance and updating trackers.
* Assisting in bids and proposals.
* Engaging with skills networks and contributing to team meetings.
* Completing training to become a certified BREEAM assessor / AP.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Ambitious, self-motivated, enthusiastic.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Thorough understanding of the construction industry and environment.
* Project management and client relationship skills.
* Proven project delivery track record.
* Experience with Part L modelling (TAS preferred) and LCA (Oneclick preferred).
* Experience in developing and managing teams (Principal/Associate level).
* Business development skills.
Desirable Attributes:
* Knowledge of building performance modelling software (e.g., IES, Spacemaker AI).
* Technical ability in energy, renewables, environmental science.
* Analytical skills across scales (buildings to cities).
* Experience in presenting analytical data clearly.
* Knowledge of planning, impact assessments, sustainability policies.
* Understanding of structural engineering, architectural design, materials.
* Experience producing Environmental Product Declarations.
* Qualifications in PAS standards, embodied carbon methodologies.
* Leadership and product development capabilities.
* Graphic design skills (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, BlueBeam).
* Relevant degree (BEng/BSc or higher), qualified BREEAM assessor.
