With over 1,000 employees and a £150m turnover, we’re growing—and now looking for a Civil Site Supervisor to play a key role in our project delivery teams.
We are currently delivering upgrades to waste water treatment plants around the south Oxford area and are looking for a proven supervisor to join our team.
The Role
As the Site Supervisor you'll be responsible for the day-to-day on-site activities including supervising teams, coordinating resources, and acting as a key interface between site personnel, subcontractors, and management.
What You’ll Be Doing
1) Technical Responsibilities - Site Supervision
* Supervise on-site teams, subcontractors, and operatives to ensure efficient workflow.
* Allocate daily tasks and monitor team performance.
* Ensure staff adhere to company standards, procedures, and site rules.
* Monitor use of materials, plant, and equipment.
* Report shortages, delays, or equipment issues to the Foreman or Project Manager.
* Support subcontractor coordination and verification of work completed.
* Assist in the planning and scheduling of site activities in coordination with Project Managers and Foremen.
* Monitor progress, report delays or issues, and propose corrective actions.
* Ensure all work is carried out to project specifications, drawings, and regulatory standards.
2) Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality & Compliance
* Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies on site.
* Conduct daily toolbox talks, risk assessments, and site inspections.
* Report incidents, near misses, and hazards promptly and accurately.
* Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, including work progress, inspections, and material usage.
* Support QA/QC processes to ensure compliance with company and client standards.
* Assist with site handovers and defect management.
3) Stakeholder Communication
* Act as the first point of contact for on‑site queries from operatives and subcontractors.
* Provide regular updates to the Site Manager.
* Liaise with clients, inspectors, or other site visitors when required.

What We’re Looking For
Essential
* SSSTS (Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme) certification.
* Valid UK CSCS card (or equivalent) for site access and verification of competence.
* Basic Health & Safety awareness relevant to construction sites.
* Proven experience as a Site Supervisor or similar role on construction or engineering projects.
* Hands‑on experience supervising site teams, subcontractors, and operatives on larger civil engineering projects.
Desirable
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
* First Aid at Work certification.
* Temporary Works.
* Experience ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
