This role is ideal for someone with hands-on lab experience who thrives in fast-paced, purpose-driven environments. About the Opportunity You’ll be part of a collaborative, mission-focused team working on one of the most urgent challenges of our time: removing CO₂ from the atmosphere. As a Chemistry Lab Technician, you’ll support core R&D and operations activities – from running tests and calibrating instruments to helping maintain lab standards and stock levels. What You’ll Be Doing * Conduct chemistry laboratory tests on prepared samples using established SOPs * Support scientists with planning and executing research experiments * Ensure experiments are monitored and documented accurately * Calibrate and maintain key equipment - pH meters, CO₂ sensors, chromatography units * Help manage lab consumables and maintain inventory records * Share responsibility for ordering lab supplies and equipment upkeep * Contribute to health & safety, COSHH compliance, and overall lab housekeeping What We’re Looking For * HND/HNC or BSc/BEng degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline * Prior working experience in a chemistry laboratory environment * Familiarity with maintaining and troubleshooting lab equipment * Strong problem-solving skills and a logical, hands-on mindset * A collaborative approach – able to work well with scientists, engineers, and managers * Comfortable adapting to evolving priorities in a start-up environment * A good understanding of lab safety practices and risk assessments Why Join? * Employee Share Options – take ownership in the mission * 30 days holiday (plus bank holidays) * Office closure over Christmas * £500 personal development grant annually * Unlimited mental health support * Equal parental leave – 3 months * Monthly rewilding donation on your behalf Apply now to join a pioneering team developing the tools we need to fight climate change – one molecule of CO₂ at a time.
