We’re searching for a Financial Reporting Assistant in Bristol to join our team of free thinkers and collaborators.
In this role, you will contribute to the accurate and timely delivery of financial reporting requirements for the edyn Group, whilst striving for continuous improvement in processes and supporting change initiatives.
Sitting within Financial Reporting, within the wider Reporting & Control team, the Financial Reporting Assistant role is varied with exposure to a number of different areas of finance and the group. Working closely with the Financial Accountant and Finance Graduates, the role will support with the delivery of specific areas of Continental Europe finance, as well as assisting the wider group. Areas of responsibility include supporting with month end postings & reconciliations, supporting with external reporting requirements, working with the Finance Manager to liaise with third party service providers, intercompany reporting, cash flow monitoring, annual audit support for the European entities, and involvement in group wide change initiatives.
A role less ordinary.
1. Balance sheet reconciliation preparation and associated month end postings (such as accruals, prepayments, fixed asset modifications, depreciation) for European entities;
2. Ownership of a selection of monthly European balance sheet reconciliations;
3. Supporting the European audit process, providing requested information in a timely manner and supporting with the preparation of European entity statutory accounts where applicable. Ad Hoc support for Group wide audit process as required.
4. Supporting with the preparation of VAT returns and the Corporate Tax return process.
5. Preparation of city tax returns
6. Monthly & annual revenue reconciliations and associated postings;
7. Supporting the Financial Reporting team with cash management and cash forecasting, particularly in relation to the preparation of funding proposals and clearance of intercompany balances.
8. Communicating with third party service providers, particularly in relation to provision of support for VAT returns, local GAAP accounts, bank accounts set up and company secretarial duties
9. Supporting with the preparation of required statutory filings in relation to entity capital changes and structure changes
Who you are.
10. Previous experience using ERP Systems such as NetSuite and Sage.
11. Demonstratable previous experience within a financial reporting role or similar
12. Willing to study towards or already be studying towards an accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, ACA, or CIMA) but not essential.
13. An awareness of statutory reporting requirements, in particular IFRS.
14. Strong system and modelling skills (particularly excel).
15. Dynamic and able to rise to new challenges as they emerge.
16. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build effective working relationships and influence change.
17. Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage own workload.
18. Relevant industry knowledge or experience within the hospitality industry is desirable
