Position
Medical Laboratory Assistant – busy department providing a full range of clinical and diagnostic services to NHS Tayside and North-East Fife. The Blood Sciences Department is based on two sites at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee and Perth Royal Infirmary, Perth.
Responsibilities
Rotate through Core Automation, including pre-analytical areas and specialist sections. Support professional scientific staff in delivering analytical services, carry out general laboratory duties, and assist with preparation and receipt of patient samples for analysis.
Requirements
* Ability to work as part of a team, demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and enthusiasm to train further.
* Previous experience and employment in a hospital environment is desirable, but not essential.
* Public holiday and weekend working will be required.
* Must achieve the mandatory induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and comply with the Code of Conduct throughout employment.
Hours and Schedule
36 hours per week, core hours rostered between 08:00 and 20:00, plus weekends and public holidays on a shared roster. May be required to work outside core hours.
