Do you have a passion for supporting young people who face barriers to learning? We’re looking for a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist alternative provision in New Milton, working with students aged 11–16 who have social, emotional, and mental health needs. This innovative setting offers a therapeutic, student-centred approach to education. Pupils are supported in small classes with personalised learning plans, helping them re-engage with education and build confidence for the future. The school’s strong focus on wellbeing, behaviour support, and relationships creates a truly transformative environment—for both students and staff. Your Responsibilities Will Include: Supporting students with SEMH and behavioural challenges Promoting emotional regulation, resilience, and engagement Assisting in the delivery of a flexible and tailored curriculum Building strong, positive relationships with students and staff Encouraging social skills, self-confidence and independence Contributing to a calm, safe and inclusive learning space What We’re Looking For: Experience working with SEMH or in an alternative provision (desirable) A calm, consistent and empathetic approach to behaviour support A genuine passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable young people Teamwork, flexibility, and a willingness to learn Why Work with Teaching Personnel?
