About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager with a strong background in the nuclear sector. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent leadership, organisational capability, and a proactive approach to safety, quality, and construction delivery within a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement construction plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
* Oversee execution of construction activities to ensure alignment with scope, quality, and regulatory requirements.
o Lead, coordinate, and support multidisciplinary teams, including contractors and subcontractors.
o Ensure milestones and deliverables are achieved efficiently and safely.
* Ensure all construction activities comply with nuclear safety regulations and relevant industry standards.
* Promote and maintain a strong safety culture.
* Monitor construction activities to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
* Initiate corrective actions where necessary.
* Identify and assess risks, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
* Escalate issues promptly to maintain progress and minimise disruption.
* Maintain clear communication with internal teams and regulatory bodies.
* Provide accurate updates on progress, risks, and performance.
* Maintain awareness of budget status and support cost‑effective decision‑making.
* Assist with resource planning and optimisation.
* Maintain comprehensive construction documentation, including reports, safety records, and compliance materials.
* Ensure records meet nuclear regulatory and internal governance expectations.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Required Skills
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction management, ideally within the nuclear sector.
* Strong understanding of M&E systems and proven experience with Instrumentation & Control (I&C) delivery.
* Project management qualifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent.
* Nuclear safety–related training or accreditation (advantageous).

* Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
* Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organisational skills.
* Competence with project management tools and digital construction systems.
* High attention to detail and strong safety focus.
