Haematology Locum Consultant Specialising in Lymphoma
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Haematologist with an interest in lymphoma and General Haematology to join the team at Withybush General Hospital. The post includes a newly developed job plan and aims to introduce a Lymphoma subspecialty as part of a broader redesign of haematology services across the Health Board. The team currently comprises seven consultants, supported by Associate Specialists, Specialty Doctors, a Clinical Fellow, and Foundation Trainees, with a Haematology CNS team and Specialist pharmacists.
We are looking for a highly committed and motivated individual to join our Haematology team and contribute to the development of subspecialisation within the Health Board. The post offers opportunities to develop rural services and provide excellent patient care.
Responsibilities
* Demonstrate experience in the management of Lymphoma and General Haematology; develop this subspecialty across the Health Board in collaboration with generalist consultants.
* Inpatients: participate in an attending and on-call rota for the Haverfordwest site; contribution at the three peripheral sites will be consultative to the local medical teams.
* Outpatients: participate in 3–4 clinics per week in Lymphoma and General Haematology; consideration for other subspecialist workload depending on experience.
* Participate in a weekly Health Board-wide MDT and be eligible to join other MDTs from all Wales MDTs.
* Contribute to general haematology and haemo-oncology duties, including departmental meetings and on-call rota.
* Work 10 sessions with 1x SPA per week; clinics at other hospital sites may be required (virtual clinics are an option).
* Support the development of the rural service to ensure excellent patient care.
Requirements
* Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice.
* Experience in the management of Lymphoma and General Haematology; ability to develop subspecialty services.
