Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a paediatric nurse to work within our nursing team on Disney Ward. The ward cares for infants, children and young people aged 0-16 years with acute medical and surgical problems, chronic and complex health conditions, life-limiting conditions and those undergoing elective surgery. We support children having day case procedures and work closely with the Children\'s Specialist Nurses, Children Community Nurses and nursing staff in the Children\'s Outpatient Department.
Responsibilities
* Support and care for the ward team of paediatric nurses and doctors to ensure children receive the best care, promoting their physical and mental health and wellbeing.
* Be enthusiastic, motivated and flexible to support the team on the ward.
* Contribute to a robust induction package including orientation to the Trust.
* Work Day and Night shifts 24/7 with patterns 07:00-19:30 and 19:00-07:30.
* Be supported by the ward manager and senior nurses on the ward.

Essential
* Diploma in Nursing Child Branch or Registered Sick Children\'s Nurse
Desirable
* Qualified mentor (ENB 998 or mentorship award or equivalent) or working towards
* Evidence of post-registration development in the relevant specialty
* Minimum six months post-registration experience in the relevant specialty
* Experience of delegating duties and being in charge of a shift
* Training in handling and administration of blood products
