Base pay range
Salary Range: 24,500 GBP to 33,567 GBP
About the role
The Publishing Operations team is responsible for the implementation of operational change and support across Wiley’s portfolio of journals. This team performs operational tasks at scale such as process and workflow change updates, editorial data management, operational change tracking, transition implementation and tracking and other supporting activities. Within the team, the Assistant Journal Operations Manager assists with the title and portfolio-level operational tasks for large projects and strategic implementations largely through maintaining a tracking and reporting pipeline. This person will work independently and should have a good understanding of the workflows and processes that are best practice in the Research Publishing business. The role is critical in the operational management of the Research business, requiring cross-functional coordination across regional and team boundaries. The Assistant Journal Operations Manager reports to a Senior Manager in Publishing Operations who makes decisions on projects and the team’s strategic direction.
Responsibilities
* Collect and prepare data: provide standard monthly reporting on the Journal Operational Change Tracker (JOCT) tool as pulled from Salesforce.
* Define and monitor KPIs: expand the monthly reporting template by exploring additional data points available in Salesforce (e.g., TATs) and track accordingly.
* Explore automation: upskill on automated monitoring tools and dashboards to gather data in real time.
* Develop and propose improvements: use data to uncover insights and translate into tangible recommendations for process enhancements.
* Maintain data systems: enhance and maintain Power BI dashboard on operational metrics.
* Support the rollout of programs across the Research business at scale to enhance journal portfolios and reduce time and costs.
* Serve as liaison to teams within Research Publishing for central management of operational systems and workflows.

* Data literate with ability to adapt to new systems and platforms; Salesforce experience is a bonus.
* High proficiency in MS Excel; experience with Power BI is a bonus.
* Motivated to seek out new opportunities and think strategically to identify future needs or challenges.
* Good organizational skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team; personable with strong relationship-building skills.
