Job overview
Qualified or almost qualified Therapeutic Radiographer to deliver safe, high‑quality radiotherapy treatment using advanced techniques such as SABR, VMAT, DIBH, TBI and SRS. Work within a supportive team at Churchill Hospital, Oxford.
Main duties of the job
* Deliver radiotherapy treatment across all department sections, including mould room, CT scanning, virtual simulation, contouring and IGRT techniques.
* Liaise with the multidisciplinary team.
* Support day‑to‑day operations, ensuring an efficient service and workload targets are achieved.
* Supervise, support and teach junior staff and students.
Person specification
Education & Qualifications
* BSc (Hon) in Radiotherapy or equivalent.
* HCPC registered Therapeutic Radiographer.
* Awareness of HCPC standard of conduct.
Experience
* Recent clinical experience in radiotherapy.
* Experience working within the NHS.
* Experience of paid employment either full or part time.
* Experience of using Varian equipment, virtual simulation and Eclipse treatment planning system.
Knowledge
* Core knowledge of radiotherapy equipment and techniques and the principles underlying them.
* General understanding of computerised treatment planning systems.
* Core knowledge of radiation dosimetry as applied to radiotherapy treatments.
* Knowledge of imaging equipment and related principles.
* Detailed understanding of malignant tumour disease processes.
* Understanding of Ionising Radiation Regulations.
* Good anatomical knowledge.
* Knowledge of department and Trust values and behaviours.
* Awareness of governance, research, trials and risk management.
Skills & Abilities
* Technical and manual dexterity to operate sophisticated equipment.
* Ability to work to fine tolerances and maintain accuracy.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Good patient care with the ability to deliver and receive sensitive information.
