Offer description

About the role:

1. Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey
2. Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral
3. Assessment of need including current drug use; drug history; physical and mental health; social situation and risk assessment
4. Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community
5. Ensure that service users receive a comprehensive, recovery-based detoxification service user plan; including support for preparation for detox and aftercare
6. Promoting carer, service user and community involvement
7. Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
8. Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination

About you:

9. Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field
10. Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills
11. Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
12. Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice
13. Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
14. Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
15. Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
16. Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others
17. The post holder will have prior knowledge and experience of providing
interventions for service users affected by Opiate use
18. An ability to work with and manage challenging behaviour.
19. AVailability to work weekends and evenings.
