Performance and Governance Officer

Are you brilliant at reviewing performance, with a strong focus on data analysis and performance monitoring? Do you have experience of policing governance and reviewing volumes of information to create deep dives on varied topic areas on the Commissioner’s behalf and provide reports and briefing documents for consideration and use, to support holding‑to‑account activities and preparation to support the PCC in holding to undertake scrutiny activity?
If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Performance and Governance Officer. As a key part of a small but dynamic team, the successful candidate will play an important role in delivering robust performance analysis and governance to support the priorities of the Police and Crime Plan. You will contribute to the development and implementation of a wide range of plans, oversee volunteer programmes and help maintain strong governance processes that ensure transparency and uphold high ethical standards. Although the Government has announced changes to the PCC model from 2028, our commitment to strong oversight and public accountability remains. This role is vital in ensuring continuity, stability and effective scrutiny throughout the transition, giving confidence that local policing priorities will continue to be delivered and communities will remain at the heart of decision‑making.
Key Skills
* Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience of producing reports and briefings
* Experience of high standards of ethical behaviour and values with the ability to make impartial decisions is essential
* Highly motivated, a self‑starter, proactive and uses their own initiative
