About the Role

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and specification of electrical systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
* Design & Specification: Develop detailed electrical designs for power distribution, lighting, data, communications, fire alarms, security systems, and lightning protection.
* Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical engineers and other disciplines to deliver integrated building services solutions.
* Sustainability Focus: Contribute to the design of low-energy buildings, including those aiming for Passivhaus and BREEAM certification.
* Technical Analysis: Utilize tools such as lighting 3D modelling, thermal, energy, ventilation, and daylighting simulations to inform design decisions.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs comply with UK building regulations and industry standards.
* Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings, providing technical expertise and ensuring client requirements are met.
* Mentorship: Support and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
Skills & Experience
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (BEng, MEng or equivalent).
* 2–5 years' experience in electrical building services design consultancy.
* Proficiency in design software including AutoCAD and Revit.
* Strong understanding of UK regulations and standards (e.g., BS 7671, CIBSE).
* Experience with energy performance calculations and sustainability assessments.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Full UK driving licence preferred.
