Post Title: Delivery Driver
About the Post:
This post will be based at the company premises, namely 9, Margram Business Centre, Horne Street, Halifax HX1 5UA. Your working time will be spent carrying out collections and deliveries from suppliers and to customers. You may occasionally be required to assist with customer requirements as directed by management.
Halifax Engineering Supplies Ltd is the supplier of a wide range of industrial bearings, power transmission products and sundries to customers both private and commercial.
You will be required to support the Managing Director on a day to day basis and work flexibly within your designated role under the direction of the Managing Director so that best use of your working time is made.
You will have the use of a company vehicle whilst at work. You are required to hold and maintain a full UK driving license.
The main elements of your role will include:
· Collection of goods from suppliers.
· Delivery of orders to customer premises.
· Maintaining communication with the office staff to check for changes to requirements whilst away from the office.
· Ensuring that paperwork relating to sales/deliveries is signed, dated and returned to the office as required.
· Any other tasks requested by the Managing Director
Competencies Required:
· To hold and maintain a full UK driving license.
· Demonstrating a positive and flexible approach whilst taking responsibility at an appropriate level to ensure objectives are achieved.
· Keeping accurate and complete records of activities and communication consistent with required company records and any current legislation.
· Ensuring that resources are deployed in the most effective way allowing yourself and the team to meet required standards.
· Practising good, effective communication with management, colleagues and customers.
· Being approachable, open and constructively manage any barriers to communication whilst considering any relevant contextual factors.
· Team working alongside colleagues to set appropriate standards and sharing relevant information to ensure that all parties can work effectively for the good of the company.
· Identifying and evaluating areas for potential service improvements.
· Discussing and agreeing with the Managing Director how the service could be improved as a result of suggestions, recommendations and directives: and balancing and prioritising competing interests about how improvements will be taken forward and implemented.
· Monitoring customer information and using this to assist in planning and improving systems.
· Anticipating situations and seeking creative solutions.
· Understanding the needs of customers and managing their expectations.
· Complying with current Data Protection legislation when dealing with customer details and other sensitive information.
· Identifying areas of risk ensuring that mistakes are corrected and that learning is fed back to ensure that mistakes are not repeated.

· That all tasks for which you are responsible are carried out promptly
