Ops, FM & EHS Category Manager
The Ops, FM & EHS Category Manager leads the activities across categories of spend with the accountability for developing and executing effective procurement strategies for the categories and actively contributing to the development of the procurement function's service to Primark.
Responsibilities
* Develop and execute strategic category management to drive spend under management and value for Primark, supporting business‑as‑usual and strategic investments.
* Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi‑year category plan aligned with business goals, market dynamics, and internal demand.
* Lead creation and implementation of go‑to‑market and sourcing strategies, negotiation plans, within the category plan.
* Identify, assess and manage supplier risk for the category, ensuring resiliency, regulatory compliance and governance.
* Monitor market trends, supply dynamics and emerging risks to adjust category strategies.
* Manage a multi‑year cost efficiency programme aligned with Primark’s Cost Efficiency programme and targets.
* Identify and deliver continuous operational improvement, innovation and sustainability.
* Negotiate high‑value, complex contracts, ensuring alignment with Primark 2030 strategy.
* Ensure Category Specialist and GBS execute agreed plans in a timely manner to required standards.
* Build trusted partnering relationships with senior internal stakeholders and influence functional leaders to secure buy‑in.
Qualifications
* 7+ years related experience in a Category Manager role.
* Experienced in managing complex sourcing activities across multiple markets and maturities.
* Strong track record of developing and delivering multi‑year strategies and achieving commercial advantage.
* Expert knowledge of financial and legal contract negotiations, ethical sourcing and corporate social responsibility.
* Experienced in leading cross‑functional negotiation teams and drafting commercial components of contracts.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement at all management levels.
* Proven ability to develop strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
* Willingness to travel as required (>20%).
