Job Description
The Lola Yamaha ABT Formula E Team competes in the FIA Formula E World Championship, combining Lola Cars' motorsport heritage, Yamaha’s technology, and ABT Sportsline’s racing expertise.
We seek a Race Engineer to lead technical and strategic aspects of one of our cars. This role requires an experienced motorsport engineer with a background in Formula E, WEC, LMDh, IndyCar, or Formula 2, capable of working under pressure with precision and performance focus.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead all technical and strategic decisions for one vehicle.
* Define setup based on data analysis, simulations, and performance input.
* Make mid-event decisions based on setup, driver feedback, and competitor data.
* Lead simulator and correlation efforts with detailed analysis.
* Coordinate with mechanics and engineers.
* Ensure car legality with the Technical Coordinator.
* Plan and execute simulator and on-track tests.
Candidate Profile
Required:
* At least 3 years of experience as a Race Engineer in top motorsport series.
* Deep understanding of vehicle dynamics and high-performance engineering.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills under pressure.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Proficiency in motorsport data tools (preferably ATLAS).
* Experience with simulation platforms like Canopy.
Nice to Have:
* Programming skills (Python, MATLAB, VBA).
* Experience in Formula E and energy management strategies.
Education & Background
* Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, or Motorsport Engineering or related field.
* Proactive, self-driven, team-oriented.
* Excellent communication skills across departments.
