Role:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for delivering project objectives across six key areas: Health & Safety, Quality, Cost, Environment, Delivery, and People. This role involves managing complex mechanical, electrical, and technology highway schemes throughout their lifecycle, with project values ranging from £100k to over £8m. It includes direct line management of project teams and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Your Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to ensure project objectives are understood and met.
* Ensure compliance with the DBFO contract, clarify roles, resolve risks, and maintain accurate records.
* Identify and manage emerging risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints.
* Lead projects from feasibility to handover, informing investment proposals at each stage.
* Maintain global or master programmes for portfolios.
* Oversee programme income and costs, challenging Project Managers' input.
* Engage with clients at project and portfolio levels.
* Chair regular project reviews covering risk registers, submissions, correspondence, milestones, and financial forecasts.
* Manage project correspondence via Aconex.
* Control project changes and allocate projects to team members based on capability.
* Work closely with construction teams to ensure permits, certificates, and site reporting are managed correctly, including NEC contract management.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience in delivering mechanical, electrical, or technology highway projects or similar.
* Project management qualifications (e.g., APM PMQ).
* Minimum HNC/HND in relevant engineering disciplines.
* Knowledge of design areas, environmental requirements, H&S legislation, and CDM.
* Experience coordinating with design teams and external resources.
* Leadership and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong communication, customer focus, and commercial awareness.
Working Arrangements:
* Willingness to travel and visit sites, including night shifts.
* Full driving license required.
* Attendance at the office approximately 60% of the week.
