We are looking for a Head of Design to join the Adanola team.
This role will be responsible for setting the design direction for the Adanola product offering and translating that to the design team and wider product function. The ideal candidate will understand the Adanola brand DNA and be able to translate that into the work of the design team. They should be a creative inspiration and a strong leader.
Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Direction:
o Provide strategic design direction to ensure cohesive, innovative, and on-brand designs.
o Stay inspired by new trends and industry innovations for future collections and product development.
o Lead efforts to improve the critical path.
o Align with other product heads on team and product strategy.
o Maintain expert knowledge in garment fit, fabrication, and quality standards.
o Keep up with upcoming trend forecasts and industry knowledge.
o Oversee timely delivery of all category collections according to the product direction.
o Participate in research trips with the team.
2. Collaboration and Communication:
o Work with buying, merchandising, sourcing, and supply base expansion.
o Approve proposed collections and provide feedback.
o Collaborate with brand and creative teams to realize the product vision.
o Work with brand and creative teams on collaborations and partnerships.
o Share and act on feedback from trade or customer insights.
o Communicate key information effectively in trade meetings.
o Ensure clear storytelling of product collections across departments.
3. Leading the Design Team:
o Lead and manage the womenswear design and garment tech teams, fostering a collaborative environment.
o Mentor junior team members with guidance and support.
o Conduct performance reviews, set KPIs, and provide honest feedback.
o Create an inspiring and motivated work environment.
