Interested in supporting staff with developing practical hands-on skills that they require to be safe and effective in their roles? Then we are very pleased to be able to offer this opportunity to join our Mandatory and Essential Skills Training team.
While we are looking for someone who has some experience of teaching or training, this role does not necessarily require a background in education as you will be working with an established team. It would suit someone with a flexible and naturally curious approach who is looking for a training and development role that directly supports delivery of healthcare services.
A good candidate will demonstrate the ability to engage, support, motivate and lead others to deliver high quality care.

Main duties of the job
1. To support the planning and preparation of staff training programmes regarding statutory and mandatory training.
2. To delivery high quality training across several core subjects, including Moving and Handling, Resuscitation, and the Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression.
3. To ensure that the Trust meets governmental and legislative standards in relation to mandatory training.
4. To ensure the effective use of the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to delivery, record, and track learning.
5. To be present and visible to support the Trusts' staff development.

Job responsibilities
6. To support the assessment, planning, and delivery on a comprehensive range of specialist training courses for the Trust taking account of the complex needs of our community, and the environmental issues in hospital and community settings.
7. To effectively engage and utilise the specialist skills and expertise of all disciplines.
8. To provide support and guidance to those core staff that are responsible for assisting in the delivery of mandatory training courses - for example associate trainers.
9. To maintain links with clinical services, developing collaborative relationships.
10. To risk assess the safety of learners when supporting the designing and delivering of training.
11. To provide support and guidance, through dynamic risk assessments using specialist knowledge and expertise, to clinical services with the support of the lead.
12. To support the application of training and teaching through a variety of flexible learning methods to meet different learning needs of staff.
13. To act as point of contact for advice, support and training on any issues relating to mandatory training and developing support packages for individual or groups of patients.
14. To be responsible for equipment used in carrying out duties, adhering to Trust policy and ensuring the safe use of equipment by others through teaching, training, and supervising of practice.
15. To liaise with the subject matter experts and escalate to them any relevant issues raised within training.
16. To ensure that all aspects of training content and delivery have equality, diversity, and inclusion central to approach.
